Can't delete an unused icon

I deleted an app on my Mac. Apparently the app installed an icon in my menu bar at the top of the screen. When I deleted the app by moving it to the Trash it still left this Icon in the main menu. Nothing I do will remove the icon. I used the Command button while moving it out of the menu bar but it pop's right back up there.

Any suggestions?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Reinstall the app. Then instead of just dragging it to the Trash, use the provided uninstaller. Alternatively when you reinstall the app, you may be able to remove it from the menubar before deleting.
