Is there a non-malware program similar to CleanMyMac?

MacPaw seems to be, at the very least, an unreliable organization. What is a viable and safer alternative to CleanMyMac? DiscUtility is not enough. I use a MacBook Pro running High Sierra.

Are you experiencing anything related to MacPaw, i.e. popups, etc., or just asking for a cleaning app? If it's the latter you don't need any "cleaning", "optimizing" or "speedup" apps on a Mac. They do more harm than good. The same goes for anti virus software.

The best defense against outside interference on your Mac is described in this user tip: Effective defenses against malware and other threats.
