How to sync photos and albums between iPhone 7 and iPad Pro

I recently got an iPad Pro 10.5 and I would use the My Photo Stream album so I could view pictures on my iPad and my iPhone. But I have the 200GB iCloud storage plan so every photo on my phone or iPad are backed up to the cloud. So now the My Photo Stream album is gone. How do I set it up for photos taken on my phone to show up on my iPad and the other way around? Is there a way to sync created albums as well between devices? It is hard as most of my pictures are of the kids so now I never know which device certain pictures are on.
