This question has been asked by others, but no one has answered it. On my new iPhone 8 I set Siri to English (UK), female, Australian accent. That worked. Then for a trip to France I changed Siri to French, male, and Siri now speaks French. Great. But in Apple Maps the voice is still in English! Switching the iPhone on and off does not change it. How can I force Apple Maps to use the current Siri voice? Thanks for any advice.

Hello, I followed those instructions and that gave me a solution. I see now the only way to get Siri in French in Apple Maps is to change the language of the device itself. It would be much nicer if we could have the device stay in one language and switch Siri back and forth between languages as we go from country to country, with Apple Maps keeping in step with Siri instead of having to change the device language each time which is rather tedious. Can this go on a wish list? Thanks for your help.

I just downloaded maps.me and find it can switch languages on the fly without fiddling with any settings on the iPhone. Impressive. Why can't Apple Maps do that?
