MacBook Pro location services are wrong

MacBook Pro location services are wrong

When I use my MacBook Pro, location services are almost always wrong. They place me anywhere from some 200 miles to the south to 400+ miles to the north (often in Canada). How do I correct this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), iOS 10.3.3

Hey riverdogs,

From your post, It sounds like your location services is not reporting correctly. I know how crucial it is to have accurate information displayed on your computer and I'd like to help. Just to be sure, do you use a VPN with your network connection? If so, this can have an effect on how your location is reported. Check out the resource below to learn more.

As your Mac doesn't have any GPS hardware, it gets its location information from the network it's connected to. And that can be off by a lot. Very often, the location will actually be where some office of the internet service provider is.
