Random string of character on every text message when recieving through sms

When I get messages through sms (the green boxes), there is a random string of letters and numbers at the end of each text

iPhone 6s texting random things to random people Yesterday, I hadn’t used my phone all day it was just sitting on the floor charging. Towards the end of the day, I went to check my messages and it had sent a bunch of random things to random people and it really confused them. It said a bunch or things I would never say. I was super confused on what was going on and I think it may have been hacked. Does anyone know how this happened?

Messages I often text a particular number. All of a sudden I find that the number appears nowhere in my message history. Any ideas?

Maybe someone is using non-standard emoji?

I considered that as a possibility but when I checked on the other phone there weren't any emojis used
