Songs in library won't load onto ipod

I had to reboot my computer about 2 months ago and since then, the songs that I purchase off of itunes and the songs I get from my cd's won't load on the ipod. And when I plug my ipod into the computer, it keeps flashing " do not disconnect." The photos will load on it though. I've tried syncing it, changing the drive letter and Im out of ideas. And I have the latest version of itunes.

i guess i just dont know how to use the site. I took the ipod back to Best Buy. I purchased a 4 year contract on it and after i get it back from Apple this time, if it screws up they give me a new one...or i will pay the difference and get an 80 gig ipod!

It was very strange that the ipod would selectively not accept some tracks and accept others from the same "album". When i got it back a month ago, from being fixed, when i loaded the 5500+tracks, only 4900+/- tracks ended up in the ipod.

Thanks for your help.

Just got my ipod back from Best
Buy. Apple replaced the battery. This was in response to my not being able to download SOME tracks and not others. I will see what happens and get back to you. I think the format is MP3, but regardless, up until this time, everything in my Library, in Musicmatch Jukebox, loaded fine.
In the 3.5 years that i have owned the ipod, i have never had this problem. I will definitly get back and let yo know what has happened.

Thanks again

It would have been better to put this in as a new post rather than tagging on to a long post that really is not related to your problem.

If your iPod doesn't show up on iTunes then it isn't going to be able to transfer music. Make sure you are using a rear port on your computer and disconnect anything else from the USB chain other than your keyboard and mouse.

Can Windows see your iPod? Check in Device Manager. Please read and complete the steps in the following: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136

Even if there are not new drivers available, follow the steps to reload your USB drivers.

No, it is set to manually manage music rather than autosync. In your system tray you can select to eject it.

Did you reload your USB drivers as described in the post?

Also, be sure you have the latest versions of iTunes (7.1.1) and Quicktime (7.1.5). If your iPod is viewable in My Computer, right click on it and change the drive letter to M. You might also reformat it (FAT32) but be aware this will erase all your music. After reformatting if iTunes sees it, Restore your iPod.

Maybe someone here can help me. For a while, my computer would not even recognize my first generation ipod nano. so i restored it to factory settings. in my itunes (which is up to date), a message pops up that says my ipod has been corrupted and might need to be restored before it's usable with itunes. the only option i have is to restore it again. after a vicious cycle of restoring after restoring and getting no where, i'm getting frustrated. i have no idea. can anyone help?

I have a similar problem. Most of my songs load onto my iPod Nano but I get a message that "Some of the items in the ITunes library were not copied because they could not be found." It lists 20 songs that I have had for years. Those songs do appear in my library and play on my PC. Some were ripped from my CDs, others purchased from iTunes. Nothing has changed on my PC and I keep the iPod up to date with new software when available. Can anybody help?
