Why isn’t my microphone working?

whenever i call someone th speaker button isnt even an option to be pressed on. I am not able to hear nor be heared by the person i am calling. And whenever i film a video no sound is recorded with the visual contact also i can not take any voice notes on any app, as for on whatsapp whenever i try to record the it deletes right away
