Great, so there's no way for me to lash out at Apple in frustration, so that they'll hear me. So it's wrong to assume they could do anything with the latest 10.13.6 update to improve the functioning of external monitors? Good thing I went to the Apple website😠
I have a mid-2010 13-inch MacBook Pro and solved the Display Link external monitor problem by purchasing from my local Walmart an HDMI to mini-DVI (mini display port) cable. If you have a thunderbolt or thunderbolt 2 those are available for sale on the internet from retailers such as Amazon. Display Link also has instructions on their website http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos on how to use airplay to display on your external monitor. Hope this helps.
Apple is not here, This is a users for users forum. Users are unlikely going to be able to fix DisplayLink. Not to mention it's up to DisplayLink to fix their software, not Apple.
