Erase HD MacBook Pro 17"

I erased my HD on my MacBook Pro 17" (2008) for resale. I used the most secure settings, therefore taking 12 hours to erase, I also erased empty space. After it was complete, it would not let me out of Disk Utility. I was forced to reload OS lion to the computer. I had to use my apple ID and password to do this. After this was completed, the computer is set at the "set up welcome screen". I am concerned that the computer now saved my apple ID and password. Can I sell it or do I have to do something else to ensure my apple ID and password are not associated with the computer?

If you have Lion on a 2008 machine then it is tied to your Apple ID and is useless for resale.

You need the Snow Leopard DVD ($20 from the Apple Store). Upgrade it to 10.6.8 and then sell the machine. The next owner can use their ID to upgrade it.

The operating system was updated to Sierra. The original configuration was Lion. My question is after I wiped the computer clean, I was forced to reload OS Sierra (sorry not Lion) to the computer with my apple ID. I just want to be sure it didn't save that information.

The new owner can't use Sierra because it is tied to your Apple ID.

Remove Sierra and reinstall Lion. You can download it under the Purchases tab of the App Store.
