iPhone 7 screen pops out a bit

On the left side of my brand new iPhone 7 the left side only seems to go in a bit when pressing it. I know this isn’t 3D Touch because I’ve tested this when the phone is completely off.Upon listening closely a quiet metal clunk can be heard. However this is the same side that can be used to switch between apps and was wondering if that is the reason for this?

any help would be very much appreciated as I can’t find anyone else on the internet with this issue
