If your iPhone has AB/, AE/, or UR/ in its model number and the SIM card you insert is for Israel, the United Arab Emirates, or a country outside the Middle East, FaceTime will disappear; iPhones originating from Israel will have HB/ in the model number and aren’t subject to this restriction.
If you previously used that SIM card in a non-Apple phone, some of your contacts may be stored on it. If needed, import these to the iPhone first.

Thank you ProustGiulio. So the new SIM card setup process only affects cellular and data services, but not the actual data retained either on the iPhone or in iCloud? In other words, after the new SIM card setup, all my old apps and data should appear? Thanks again.
Thank you Niel. My iPhone 6s+ is an A model and the new SIM card will be for Chinese cellular and data. So if I've moved any contact info from my current SIM card to my phone data, should I be confident that all my data and all my apps will still be on my phone after I insert a new Chinese SIM card? I am trying to access all my travel documents from my phone so they have to be there when I swap SIM cards. Thanks again!
Thanks! I'm looking through my phone as to how to determine if any contacts are stored on my SIM but can't find anything. Any suggestions?
Found it!
