Is iCleaner App any good?

I am afraid to download apps that will actually slow down and cause my laptop to run hot. So, can any one tell me if the iCleaner App, which is supposed to get rid of stuff that slows down the computer, is worth the 5$ to a person who lives on a government disability check.

Mac OS X (10.1.x), Safari , iCloud?

Would seem to be better to try & learn why the MacBook, in your opinion, may need

something that messes up the works so poorly. Maybe the hard drive is already too

full of scruft and hubris, so much so the Mac OS X cannot breathe?

Depending on the configuration of your Mac, you could get & try a free trial run

Etrecheck utility (from the maker's site) that can help find causes of slowness

also help remove adware, malware, etc. It shows report for you to repost here.

Another recommended item (created by yet another Apple discussions contributor

with years online free helpfulness) is MalwareBytes for Mac. Was "Adware Medic."

General information requires study to understand; there are free guides of this info.

'Cleaner applications' tend to be relied upon by those who cannot fix what these break.

Which then leads to a loss of data; perhaps a costly repair shop trip, in a worst case.

There are 'free' uninstaller applications or utilities (some of the best, for what they do.)

But the answer is not to simply rip-out macOS system parts like so much rubbish.

Before trying to clear out your unknown system files and user created items at random

you should consider a good backup scheme not limited to Time Machine; at least two

externally enclosed hard drives and one backup full system clone on capable hard drive.
