Why can’t I make any purchases

I was trying to make an in app purchase but it said that I had to contact support so they can help me out but I’m just not understanding why I would need to contact support

If you supplied a credit card, check its details. If not or they're correct, clickhereand ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

Nobody on these boards can say what the problem is, but possible causes include something with the credit card being used, or having reached a purchase limit.
