Upgrading my Macbook Pro mid 2010

Hello Apple Nation,

Recently I acquired a MacBook Pro Mid 2010. As i begun to look for instant upgrade information, i have quickly recognized the intricacies of an Apple MacBook.

At this current moment i know i will have to factory reset my MBP; but something is killing me!

Must i REEEEEALLY start with snow leopard and then work my way through the other OS X upgrades to be able to get to OS High Sierra?

I have 10.6 which comes installed

I have 10.7 and 10.8 as well ......

What is the best and fastest way to proceed in bring a mid 2010 MBP into the now.......

(buying a fresh one will have to wait) lol

If you have 10.8 on a thumbdrive or can access its recovery partition, you can install it and then High Sierra. If not, you need to install Snow Leopard or Lion, and then go through El Captian or a different intermediate OS.
