Stuck on "30 minutes remaining"
Upgrading a Mac Air to Sierra - after a reboot, been tuck on "30 minutes remaining" for over 9 hours.

Upgrading a Mac Air to Sierra - after a reboot, been tuck on "30 minutes remaining" for over 9 hours.
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.0.x)
Force shutdown. Press and hold down the Power button until the computer shuts down. Wait 15 seconds then do the following:
Reinstall El Capitan or Later Without Erasing Drive
Please be sure you back up.

If the above does not help then do this:
Install El Capitan or Later from Scratch
If possible back up your files.
Force shutdown. Press and hold down the Power button until the computer shuts down. Wait 15 seconds then do the following:
Reinstall El Capitan or Later Without Erasing Drive

Have you tried restarting the computer again? Shut the computer down using the power button and then restart.
First option went nowhere.
Tried second option.
Got to the last step and got an error that "This disk gas S.M.A.R.T. errors. Replace the disk".
Not my day...
