Change my iTunes users email address

Anyone know how I can change the email address listed in my iTunes account? The email address listed in my iTunes account info is not my Apple ID email address. When I hit edit account in iTunes it takes me to appleid.apple.com. After I sign in there is no option to changed or update iTunes ID to the same as my current Apple ID. I do not want to change my Apple ID. Any suggestions? Thanks Rich O

No problem signing in to iTunes account info and no problem signing into appleid.apple.com.

Not trying to request an old Apple ID password - I have the passwords for iTunes ID and Apple ID.

All apps are current.

"One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the old ID and download them using the new ID if desired"?Deleting the iTunes account to get rid of the hotmail ID associated with my iTunes then establishing a new account with the Apple ID (@me) I have - is that correct?

The hotmail email address is my original and only email address associated with my iTunes account. I opened it long before there was the option to have a @me Apple ID email address. So I don't have a new iTunes account with that @me address to sign in with if I sign out of hotmail. The only reason I want to to this is because Apple does not clarify what ID they want half the time. They call both the iTunes and Mac account Apple IDs and I've been known to enter the wrong one. I think the easiest way out of this situation would be to establish the same password for both, eliminating screw ups. Thanks for your help.

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for an old Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the old ID. Those purchases are tied to the old ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the old ID and download them using the new ID if desired.
