Connect a USB printer to your Mac
For most USB printers, all you have to do is update your software and then connect the printer to your Mac. If necessary, macOS automatically detects the printer and downloads any necessary software. For other printers, you may have to complete a few steps to add the printer.
Important: If your Mac has a single USB-C port, use a multiport adapter. Connect the printer, then connect a USB-C cable to a power supply to prolong the battery life of your Mac. For more information about USB-C, see About USB-C.
I am connecting with a USB cable.
I was able to download the Firmware driver and utilities combo package but when I tried to write the error message is that the printer is not connected.
This is an iMac 2012
Thanks
Thanks Bob, I'm in business
It will help us to help you if you provide some details such as:
How are you connecting?
What happens when you try to connect?
Error messages?
What computer model/year?
Did you add the printer in Preferences?
No, I inserted the disc that accompanied the printer. However, in preferences the status of the printer is offline. How do I get it online?
