Can you share paid 50gb iCloud? But you have to use the same Apple ID to do this, can't share iCloud but use own Apple ID?

Purchased 50gb iCloud thinking hubby and I could share it. Set up family sharing, but my phone only backing up to existing free Apple ID icloud. Is using my hubby's Apple ID the only way I can back up pics off my phone to the paid iCloud? Can't be shared any other way please?

No. Apple IDs should not be shared. And the 50GB icloud storage is not shareable through Family Sharing.

If you want to share iCloud Storage the only way to do so is to upgrade the storage to the 200GB or 2TB options.

Do note that sharing an Apple ID for iCloud will share everything related to iCloud. Contacts, Messages, calendar, photos, etc... And may cause a slew of other issues.
