Virus warning

6splus phone-this pop up came up while browsing people magazine articles Not the safest I know but I’ve never had problems before.

I couldn’t get out of it so I closed all the other apps and powered down. Brought it back a while later and it was gone. Everything seemed fine until I started noticing weird little things throughout my phone functions. Messages started adding people from previous group messages to individual messages. Apps will just close or freeze. Internet and offline functions are really slow. Something’s going on. How do I find out what? I’ve seen lots of posts about virus warnings but no helpful replies. Lots of “me too”s. Surely someone must be able to help??

Apologies for the late reply. I personally recommend 1Blocker, though it will only work with Safari. I also recommend Adblock Mobile for use with other apps. Unfortunately, Adblock Mobile uses a VPN to block ads, so its security is questionable.

1Blocker Free: 1Blocker Legacy on the App Store

1BlockerX: 1Blocker X on the App Store

Adblock Mobile: Adblock Mobile — best Ad Blocker to block ads on the App Store

This virus alert is not real. They just want you to click on it and call them so they can scam you out of money. It appears you're using Google Chrome, so there are a few ways to prevent it from coming back.

1. Open Google Chrome > press the menu button (three dots at the top right) > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data

2. Uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome

3. Stay away from websites that redirect you to those scams

4. Consider installing an ad-blocker
