How do I add the date to my Home screen?

I have the date on the lock screen and that is helpful. But I would like to have it at the top of the home screen as well. Is there anyway to do this? I am using iOS 11.4.1

No, you can't personalize the status bar, sorry.

As a workaround, I use to keep my Calendar app icon (showing the current date) at top left of my home page.
