Apple Watch 38mm Series 2 detached screen warranty?
My wife’s 38mm stainless steel watch screen has become detached. The watch is about a year and a half old, purchased for about $1000. She wears it primarily at her work as an attorney; it has not been subjected to abnormal stresses.
We took the watch to our local Genius Bar where upon examination they offered to repair it for $249 (alternatively suggesting the purchase of a new watch), as we do not have AppleCare. I understand there is an existing warranty extension repair for the Series 1 and a similar warranty for swollen batteries (which cause the face to detach), but only covers the 42mm Series 2.
Is anyone aware of a more recent extended warranty for the Series 2 38mm? I’m concerned now that my own S1 stainless steel 42mm Milan will follow a similar fate...
