keyboard issue

my play/pause/skip buttons are not working on my built in keyboard for Mac,

some times they work and some times they don't, all other keys work.

I have os x high Sierra (version 10.13.6) iTunes 12.8.0.150

I would love to know how to fix it

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.

Reset NVRAM/PRAM

Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.
