Mac wireless keyboard: numbers 1-7 not working

I was trying to log into my mac. Earlier in the day, everything was working fine. However, when I tried to log in again to one of my users, the numbers 1-7 are not working. All other keys are working just fine.

I shut down the computer and keyboard; then powers back on. Same thing all other keys except the number 1-7 don't work.

I changed ged the batteries I. The keyboard as I k ow they were low- same issue. The "~" key works, however 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7 do nothing. The 8,9,0,-,+/=, and delete keys all work fine.

I cannot log in at all as my password includes numbers within the 1-7 range.

Please help solve.
