While I was using my MacBook Pro 2017, macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6, dark horizontal lines popped up on the screen. Then turned off and on for a bit and I took 2 pictures. Is this a hardware issue? What's going wrong here?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the same, when I close it partially it goes away and then when I reopen instead white lines are visible. Mine is a work laptop with no AppleCare. It just appeared. I closed it without shutting down and later reopened, and the lines were there.
it related to lid angle? I have the same issue - it goes away when the lid is partway closed. LCD ribbon cable in the hinge.
How to solve it? I have the same problem. Thanks

I’m convinced it’s the display cable that is failing. I can make it better by closing the lid part way. I do have AppleCare but it seems to be a design defect. Taking it in.
