What is "$WinPEDriver$" folder in Boot Camp?

Hi Everybody,

When i download Boot Camp to install Win 10 april 2018, i see a folder name "$WinPEDriver$", could you explain to me what is it?

What is the "firmware" folder under home folder for? I have recently purchased a 2020 MBP 13, after I migrated everything from my old 2017 MBP 13, I noticed that there is a "firmware" folder under my home folder and there are 3 dmg files with a couple of plists. As shown in the screenshot below. I am wondering if it is safe to remove those dmg files or even the entire firmware folder? Because one of the dmgs is 1.86GB. Thanks! Amos

InstallESD When running TechTool 11 Check Computer, a disk titled "InstallESD" appears. What is that? Can I safely delete it? Before running TechTool, I clicked on "Install macOS Mojave" in my Applications folder. I was curious about upgrading from High Sierra. Could the "InstallESD" have come from my doing that? I did not complete an upgrade because further research said it was best to upgrade from the App Store.

WinPE is Windows PreBoot Envronment. It is used to customize loading drivers before a typical Windows installation. The drivers need to boot Windows during installation on a Mac are different than the standard PC drivers. You can expand the folder(s) and see the individual components.
