Apple Needs to Make Changes to Account Pop-ups

Hi -- For the past two days I've been getting pop-ups on my iMac asking me to sign in (it shows my Apple ID and asks for my password) and a symbol that it is locked. It says that "Apple needs to make changes to my account". Is this legit? Is it okay to sign in? I've never gotten this before.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
