I am getting ready to start a new job that requires that I bring my own device. I am looking at the new iPhone 10s Max. Can someone explain the difference between eSim and Dual Sim? Do I have to purchase the new phone from a carrier in order to take advantage of the eSim or Dual Sim availability?

Please note that the dual sim (which is really two sim cards stacked one on top and one on the bottom will only be sold in China.
Dual Sim and eSim are different but we can say that they are the same thing. In a dualism phone you two physical sim. With the esim you have only one physical sim; the other one works by software. It is a sim printed in the logical keyboard and you can choose your operator without change the physical sim.
