MacBook Air Black/Grey Screen after upgrading to Mac High Sierra

Greetings,

Post I have upgraded my MacBook Air to High Sierra, it worked for few days with no issues. One fine day it was very slow and the screen turned grey/black which has failed come up.

Steps that were tried:

1. Reset the PRAM & SMC

2. Holding on to Option+Command+R for around 45 mins. (Do I need to hold any further?)

3. Tried Holding Command+R for several mins.

4. Brightness is at appropriate level (since it was working)

5. Holding Power button for 6 seconds and then 15 seconds.

Am I missing something. I am happy even if it is factory reset, any other secret key which will help ?

Thank you,

Best regards

Here's the catch,

After a long of investigation, I encountered the disk is 97% full. Not sure how this happened. I do not have heavy on my Mac, seems it is only post the upgrade to Macos high sierra something is eating up my disk.

Now, I am at the Terminal under Disk Utilities and don't know what is eating up the disk.

Configuration: MacBook Air 11 inch, 4gb, 128gb.

In addition to the above, forgot to mention, as suggested when I try reinstalling, on the Install Macos X screen it does not give me a disk for selection.

What would be a best idea?

1. To free up the space from Terminal? If yes, then which files are to be deleted.

2. If install OS X then how to bring the disk for selection?

Thank you!
