iPhone is bent/cracked and screen doesn't work. Will I have to pay full price for a new phone?

I have an iPhone X that I bought less that a year ago, so it is still under warranty. Yesterday night it fell out of my pocket into the car seat and when some friends were getting out of the car, they flipped the car seat back up and my iphone got stuck in the middle of the seat and bent/cracked. It is vibrating when someone texts me but the screen is otherwise black/not functioning. It was a complete accident and I take good care of my phone. I also understand that accidents are not covered under the warranty, but I was wondering if I would have to pay the full $900 for a new phone, or would they offer me a replacement for a discounted price? I have to drive two hours to a genius bar in hopes of paying less for a replacement but I would like to know my options before doing so.
