The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.

Hi everyone,

I installed Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) with Bootcamp Assistant but had some issues running so I want to remove the partition and start over. But when I tried to remove the Windows partition with Bootcamp Assistant it gives me this error message. Previously I did use BCA to partition my hard drive and install Windows. When I go into Disk Utility there is now 2 Bootcamp Volumes alongside the Macintosh HD one.

Here are some screenshots.

This is what I get from running diskutil list, I've read elsewhere that this is important.

diskutil list

/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

disk0

1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB
disk0s1

2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 296.0 GB
disk0s2

3: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 202.6 GB
disk0s3

4: Windows Recovery 913.3 MB
disk0s4

5: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 503.3 MB
disk0s5

/dev/disk1 (synthesized):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: APFS Container Scheme - +296.0 GB
disk1

Physical Store disk0s2

1: APFS Volume Macintosh HD 177.1 GB

2: APFS Volume Preboot 22.5 MB disk1s2

3: APFS Volume Recovery 518.1 MB
disk1s3

4: APFS Volume VM 1.1 GB disk1s4

Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Alright here's the output, I've accidentally forgot to save the exact output after running the commands but running diskutil gave this.

Here are some screens from Disk Utility in case.
