iMovie clips choppy in iPad

I’m trying to do some video editing on my iPad Pro 10.5 in iMovie. All the footage is 1080 60fps. I’m finding some clips look smooth and great at 1/2 speed and some look really choppy. In some cases it’s even the same clip split. It seems some clips are playing back at 30fps and some at 60fps all within the same project. Any ideas here? I read the frame rate is determined by the first clip you add, which is really stupid, but still doesn’t explain why it fluctuates within the same project.

iMovie is causing pixelation?? Hi, So basically, I’m filming videos on an iPhone 8 Plus in 1080p 60fps and editing them in iMovie. When I watch the final video in iMovie there are no issues. But once I save it (using better quality option), I watch it back on QuickTime and there’s pixelation in parts of the video. See picture. All clips in the timeline are 1080p 60fps, I’ve tried deleting and re-adding the dodgy clips but it just puts the pixelation elsewhere in the video. FCP doesn't always get the frame rate right when making a new project, I created a bunch of projects only to discover after many hours of editing that even though all my footage was 29.9 fps, fcp decided to make some of the project 23.9 fps and on export the resulting footage has moire banding and pixelation. I tried creating a new project, set the correct 29.9 fps and then copy pasted my clips from the project that fcp set to 23.9, but upon exporting the footage it has the same issue. Interesting note in the info bar on the right, when I click on any footage even in the project that is set to 23.9 fps it says the clip is 29.9 fps....
