On my MBP in Mail (V 11.5), how do I setup Auto Reply while on travel?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), Mail Ver 11.5

My iPhone 8 has a feature in Mail to allow Auto Reply.

Where is that feature on iOS? I can't find it in Mail or in Settings > Mail. Perhaps it is a feature of the account.

There isn't one. You would have to make a Rule to do that, but that is a bad idea. Log into your email provider's web site for your email account and see if they have a "vacation" or "out of office" setting.

On my iPhone 8, I followed these directions available on Support:

Automatic reply

I am going on holiday and need to use the automatic reply feature for my emails. I searched how to do this and found the following:

  • Open Settings then scroll down to "Accounts & Passwords."
  • Select the e-mail account that you want to set an automatic reply from.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and tap "Automatic Reply."

Turn Automatic Reply on.

It worked on my phone.
