need a used macbook pro to run photoshop

Hi All

I am after a used mac book pro that is capable of running the latest version of photoshop. Ideally for under £500

I have always had windows laptop and have recently become disillusioned by the constant updates and errors (plus so much slowdown) so I am now hoping to take my first gentle steps into the world of Mac books

Does anyone know the earliest model or specs I would need to run the latest photoshop. It would be a shared laptop between myself and my son (used by myself for photoshop and my son for doing his school work)

I have found this model for sale but not sure if this is enough or new enough.

Apple MacBook Pro 8,2 / i7-2720QM / 16GB Ram / 256GB SSD / DVD-RW / 15"

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

I currently use Photoshop on a Mac mini that is roughly equal to the computer you are looking at. But the computer is a late 2011 model which means three things. 1) The most current version of the operating system, High Sierra, is the last version supported on this computer. In about a week Mojave will be released and this computer is not compatible with it. You can expect Apple to support High Sierra for a couple more years. 2) The computer is not currently on Apple's obsolete or vintage list but you can expect that it will be there in the next year or 2. Apple will discontinue support and repair of computers that are on this list. 3) unless you know the provenance of this computer, I would consider the purchase risky at best.
