Bluetooth not working after update iOS 12

Ever since I updated my iPhone to iOS 12 my Bluetooth is not working. I cannot see my devices from before and cannot connect to my Apple Watch… I have tried every solution I could find on the Internet but nothing is working! Is there anybody else who can help me try to fix this problem?

I’ve tried rebooting my iPhone and reset my network settings. I cannot on pair my Bluetooth connections from before because I cannot see them anymore…

Today I received a phone call from Apple care and we found the solution! In my case we had to disconnect my Apple Watch from my iPhone and erase my Apple Watch. I was afraid that I could not connect my Apple Watch to my iPhone again because I had no Bluetooth, or so I thought…

You simply have to look at your iPhone as a new iPhone and erase all possible connections you’ve made with your current iPhone. So I removed my iPhone from the Bluetooth settings of my car and Marshall speaker, then I reconnected my iPhone to all my devices and it worked. Apparently iOS 12 erased all my known Bluetooth devices from my iPhone but my Bluetooth devices remembered my iPhone, and so I thought that my Bluetooth was not working...

I hope this information helps a lot of you like it helped me! Thanks to Stefan from Holland working at Apple care!

I have been having the exact same issue. I have a 2013 VW Beetle and I even called Volkswagen and they said they don’t have any kind of firmware to update ...the scary thing is the more updates our newer phones have the more likely they won’t connect to our cars ....I’m just hoping and praying it will start working all it does is connect and disconnect if I leave Bluetooth on it’s so fristea

Good you fixed the problem but Apple need to either tell people that's what they have to do following the update or not break stuff in the first place. Fundamentally this is down to poor programming and/or testing. Apple software used to be superb 10+ years ago, now they are heading towards MS levels of basic errors And customer inconvenience.

btw - I couldn't connect my phone to my car but all I had to do was turn off Bluetooth, restart the phone, turn Bluetooth back on, and connect. Thankfully I didn't have the same level of inconvenience you experienced.

12.1 broke my bluetooth connection between iPhone XS Plus and both my Raspberry Pi 3 and my Garmin Fenix 5 watch. I finally got the RP3 reconnected, but audio does not switch over to it anymore so it's useless. Fenix does not connect or re-pair whatsoever.

Have tried restarting all devices, switching bluetooth off and on with all devices, and resetting network settings on iPhone.
