My battery claimed 93% health, but went from full charge to empty within 30 min. That started one week before iOS 12, and software update didn’t change it.
Got a new battery from Apple without touching anything else. Now the iPhone 6S after a long day of usage is still at 60% charge. Latest iOS 12.
I strongly recommend getting a new battery, while Apple is still offering them this year for little money.
Yeah, don't update. The whole internet says that the 6S is the most stable iPhone ever and Apple knows that. They're trying to make ups dump a good product so their sales go as planned. I really don't want to change mine for a slightly better hardware, because that's the only difference. It's interesting to see so many behaviors of the same device with just a software update. This whole thing is planned for sure. I was lucky to make mine last a little longer with a battery change and if I'll have to give up on it I am seriously thinking about buying another 2nd hand 6S that's still running iOS 11. Just look at everyone having the same problem while Apple is forcing us to buy something new...
I did a little test on mine shortly after my last post. Charged 100%, I checked for app updates on the App Store. There were a total of 8. I unplugged the phone and began the update downloads while connected to WiFi. In 3 minutes, I watched the battery plummet from 100% to just 59%! That’s right, just 3 minutes. And this is with a new battery! This isn't a background refresh issue or an indexing issue or any of the other nonsense Apple Supoort will tell you. This is a scam, plain and simple.
For me reducing motion did not really change something after I changed the battery. Neither bacground app refresh. However, maybe it would have helped before I changed my old battery.
How much screen on time arr you getting (not the las 24h but if you count each bar in the battery stats since last full charge)? I get arround 6hours, on wifi, with not a lot of gps and arround 30-40% screen brigtness. For me it is acceptable, but not a bood performance for a 1yo phone with a new battery.
Checking in Settings and Battery there are 2 Apps that has the highest usage - Google @ 25% and Fox News @ 23%
rest of the Apps usage is below 10%
It has been 24 hrs since I disabled the "Background App Refresh" I found a slight improvement in the battery drain and must thank you for your involvement in this regard.
Push was disabled however Fetch was set to Automatically. I changed it to 30 min. Thank you and much appreciate your response.
Not after one year. And my phone is one year and one month old..
Greetings - Thanks for the response and as a matter a fact I did Restart my device to of no avail. I never experienced anything like it before. IOS 11.4.1 was just perfect and I am sorry to have upgrade to IOS 12 any further recommendations is much appreciated.
Regards
Greetings:
I agree 1000% with the IOS 12 Power Drain issue. For me it’s been about 36 hrs and went through the process as recommended and find no change.
I believe for iPhone 6s users this is a disaster and I simply hope Apple shows due diligence to solve this issue. It’s much app
Hello, I am also using iPhone 6S but I never faced any battery issue in this phone but sometimes when I play this Growtopia mod apk game on my iPhone 6S then its drain battery fast you may also try this game to check its only drains my mobile battery or yours also thanks I am waiting for your reply buddy 🙂
Greetings - Sorry to say I do not play any video games on my iPhone. However, playing any regular videos I.e. home videos or the likes of YouTube it drains the battery fast. I am not sure if this was the response you were looking for.
Thanks
I did the upgrade to IOS 12 on Sunday and ever since then it is draining my battery within several hours, I am having to charge several times a day. My phone was fine before the upgrade. Please come up with a solution?
i am having exact same issue with 6s+ios12. I got my battery also replaced, but the battery drains from 100% to less than 20% in matter of 2-3 hours. Talked to apple support, as per their diagonstics, they dont find any issue, though i am clearing facing this.
Never had any issues in IOS 11.x. It started after upgrading to IOS 12 and got a carrier update (ATT)
I have the exact same issue in iPhone 6. never faced anything like this before upgrading to iOS 12. I have turned off the location service and background app refresh(which remained on during earlier versions). battery health is 92%. is there any way to go back to iOS 11? or Apple has done this on purpose?
I just got a new batter installed by Apple in June. Now since upgrading and also powering my phone down my battery is almost dead after one phone call, a few texts and a few emails I am at 9%. i am seriously considering an android if this does not have a patch very soon.
