My battery claimed 93% health, but went from full charge to empty within 30 min. That started one week before iOS 12, and software update didn’t change it.

Got a new battery from Apple without touching anything else. Now the iPhone 6S after a long day of usage is still at 60% charge. Latest iOS 12.

I strongly recommend getting a new battery, while Apple is still offering them this year for little money.

Yeah, don't update. The whole internet says that the 6S is the most stable iPhone ever and Apple knows that. They're trying to make ups dump a good product so their sales go as planned. I really don't want to change mine for a slightly better hardware, because that's the only difference. It's interesting to see so many behaviors of the same device with just a software update. This whole thing is planned for sure. I was lucky to make mine last a little longer with a battery change and if I'll have to give up on it I am seriously thinking about buying another 2nd hand 6S that's still running iOS 11. Just look at everyone having the same problem while Apple is forcing us to buy something new...

I did a little test on mine shortly after my last post. Charged 100%, I checked for app updates on the App Store. There were a total of 8. I unplugged the phone and began the update downloads while connected to WiFi. In 3 minutes, I watched the battery plummet from 100% to just 59%! That’s right, just 3 minutes. And this is with a new battery! This isn't a background refresh issue or an indexing issue or any of the other nonsense Apple Supoort will tell you. This is a scam, plain and simple.

For me reducing motion did not really change something after I changed the battery. Neither bacground app refresh. However, maybe it would have helped before I changed my old battery.

How much screen on time arr you getting (not the las 24h but if you count each bar in the battery stats since last full charge)? I get arround 6hours, on wifi, with not a lot of gps and arround 30-40% screen brigtness. For me it is acceptable, but not a bood performance for a 1yo phone with a new battery.
