Hi, Chrissy

i found that if you go to settings and tap screen time you will see content and privacy restrictions. Enter your password. You will see iTunes and App Store purchases. If you tap that you can toggle installing Apps on and off. For me, the .app Store icon disappeared I think because I updated the iPad while I had install apps turn off. I don’t know if this will help you.

I was also experiencing this problem with my son's iPad . I had chatted with Apple, gotten a call back from Customer Service with answers from the engineers and still no resolution. After reading many responses here, I decided instead of starting over (I had already wiped the iPad clean and set it up as new; it didn't work), I would just turn off Screen Time. It worked! The App Store came right back up. Clearly, they don't know care about finding a fix for this problem since it's been going on for months.

Toggling the on off, restarting, etc. does not work. Save yourself the time.

Thank you, Giulio. Like Pembroke1, I couldn't find my App Store anywhere; neither could I delete apps that I no longer wanted. I could get them to shake, but the "X" for delete was missing from every one of them. So this evening I went searching (again) for a solution, and got to this discussion. On my iPad Mini 4 I followed your breadcrumbs, and you were so right! I turned on "allow deletes" and a couple of other items, and when I backed out, there was that naughty App Store icon, right where it belongs. Thank you for your persistence!

Gratefully,

I am having the same issue. I had restrictions in place prior to IOS12 that included App restrictions. I could turn it on and off with the Restrictions password so my son could not install apps.

I have been using Screen time restrictions since installing IOS12 but now it is not possible to get the App Store back. I have the app store enabled and the age limit also set to unrestricted under Content and Privacy Restrictions. I have done a restart and reset but nothing works. I could wipe the whole phone, but would like to avoid the nuclear option.

It looks like the old Restriction settings are still active somewhere in the code, but the new Screentime settings are not overriding them.

I am on an iphone 6 with the very latest version of ios12.1.1

Apple - this must be a bug!!!!
