Photos can't open the library

Question

Photos can't open the library

Since yesterday, Photos can't open the library. Restoring a backup doesn't help, neither does repairing the library. What else can I do?

Launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new library, If you can import some Photos into it and confirm that it works as it should. Open and close several times.

If you can create and use a new library then your current library is the culprit. In that case go into your backup and restore the library that was saved just prior to this happening.

What version of Photos are you using? What happens when you try to open the library? Do you get a message? If so what is it?

Hi Old Toad,

I'm using Version 3.0 (3291.13.210). When I try to open Photos / the library, I get no message. Only a wheel that keeps on turning... I waited for several hours, but nothing happens...

After creating a new library as you suggested, I tried to open the 'old' library again (so no backup). No problems opening it now !?
