How do I hide the sidebar options in iOS 12 News

Currently, using iOS 12 and the new Apple News app, with your iPad in landscape orientation, you can't.
The only way to get Apple to listen to you is to use their feedback portion of their website to try and get them to address this Apple News app issue.

The more users who post to this feedback page and quick, the sooner Apple iOS team can fix this and get another Apple News/iOS 12 update out.
