Verizon Message + stopped working after update to ios 12

Immediately after updating to ios 12 my message + app stopped functioning properly. I receive new message notifications on the notification scree, however these same messages don't appear within the messaging app. Also the app when open toggles between "connecting" and "waiting for network." I use this app as a cross platform texting app between iPad, computer and Android device.

Unfortunately, you are the only thread that I have seen asking about the app. What troubleshooting did you try? Since you haven't listed anything, I apologize if these are repeats of things you have already done. If an app is misbehaving, one of the first steps is to force closed the app, see this, How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


The next steps are to make a current backup and restore to that backup. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support


If that does not correct it, then restore to factory, setting the device up as new, and test without adding any additional apps, not using your backup. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support If it still does not work correctly, you are going to have to try and work with Verizon, or get them to work with Apple.

Thanks for your assistance. I've deleted, reinstalled the app multiple of time, toggled of the stock message app and even factory reset the iPad twice. There's one user within the Verizon support community experiencing the exact same issue. His too coincides with his recent software update.


If you were to go to the app store and read the recent reviews you'll find several users reporting the same issues. Theirs too coincides with updating their software. I only learned of these issues involving others after posting here for assistance. I'm also guessing the is a niche app within the ios community as most use iMessage or other more popular cross platform messaging apps in order to achieve universal messaging across different devices. At this point I'm convinced it's an app issue requiring an update which plays well with iOS 12

When you are speaking about cross platform, I'm guessing that all you have is an iPad and do not have an iPhone? If that is the case, yes, you are going to need some type of application that would allow you to do some type of messaging, however, if you have an iPhone, you can use the iPhone to send SMS to Android with your iPad. It is called Continuity, and Text Message Forwarding. I'm pretty convinced it is an app issue as well, and Verizon didn't do their homework in making sure their app worked with iOS 12. Good luck.

I only have an iPad, no iPhone. I have a Samsung phone and a windows computer. I've found this app works seamlessly on all devices for real-time text messages delivery. Most importantly, I can reply from any of them and all messages are synced. IMessage will likely never be rolled out to Android and there's no way I'm going to convince anyone to download and sign up for Allo, Whatsapp etc. So for now I'm stuck with this app which served me well until recently.
