I updated my software to iOS 12 last night, excited to use Google Maps this morning, although it did not show up on my CarPlay. I drive a 2016 Chevy Cruze and have a brand new iPhone 8 Plus. Am I missing something?
Have you updated all of your apps on your iPhone? You need an updated version of Google Maps before it will show in Car Play.

Works for me! Just verified. Phone updated to iOS 12, Google Maps updated as well, and now appears on the Carplay home screen. 😎
