ICloud Messages Currently Disabled

I own an IPhone X IOS 11.4.1

at the bottom of my texts screen there is a message that has been there since I changed my password. It reads “ Messages in ICloud are currently disabled -Repair Account”. When I click on Repair Acount- the message reappears in just a few seconds. Any suggestions? I’ve rebooted the phone several times.

Hello, heatherfrommcdonough!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here. I understand from your message that you're not able to get rid of that error message about Messages in iCloud. I'd be glad to help you get this squared away.

To start, I'd like to recommend signing out of iMessage and back in again. You can do this from Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, by tapping your Apple ID and choosing 'Sign Out'. From there, go ahead and sign right back in and let us know if that error message has gone away.

If it hasn't, it may not be a bad idea to back up your iPhone and update to iOS 12 which was released earlier this month. You can learn how to back up and update your iPhone in our article titled Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .

I hope that this information is helpful.

Have a great day!
