iPhone XS Max Shipping Delay

Hello fellow Apple enthusiast. As you know, the iPhone XS Max had shipped! However, I have received a very interesting notice informing me that my delivery cannot be made and to call the Apple support hotline. I of course called and was told that my call could not be completed due to high call volumes on their end. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

I read an article just minutes ago, saying many people received a shipment on hold message, which was in error. The advice above to check your order status again is the best first step. If it has not changed, you'll just have to keep trying to get through to them as requested.

However, the "shipping delay" message has been noted as not quite correct in many cases. Check your shipping status again.

I understand your frustration, but your anger is completely misplaced. I read an article yesterday that UPS goofed up. This is not Apple's fault. It's UPS fault. Once a phone is out of the seller's hand (Apple) and is in the hand of the shipper (UPS or Fedex, but in your situation, likely UPS), it's the shippers responsibility to get it to the destination on time. UPS messed up. Be mad at the right party.

Pre-order my iPhone XS first minute as pre-order was open in US. Today is Monday 9/24 and I still not have it yet. UPS show very intriguing tracking: Shenzhen, China - Louisville, KY, US [customs] - Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong - Anchorage, AK, US - [...path cannot be predicted in Matrix]. Clearly Apple had issue with customs clearance. Now I am concerning mostly not about when I will get it but I do not like that device was traveling across globe and can be simple damaged due to excessive handling. Thinking about returning it to the store. Apple customer support did not help at all. Very disappointed.

They are packed exceptionally well. You'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face to just summarily return it. When it does arrive, check it's condition (which is certainly going to be perfect) and if there's anything wrong you have 14 days to return it and get a refund.


Certainly your choice, but I wouldn't return mine if I were in your situation.
