iOS 12 Bluetooth Uconnect issue

I updated my iPhone 7 to iOS 12, and immediately noticed that there is now a significant lag in song selection when connected to bluetooth in my car's Uconnect head unit. When a new song plays, the song run time is frozen for exactly 30 seconds while the song plays. If I try to toggle next/last track selection using the car's audio controls during this time, nothing happens until the 30 seconds pass, then it changes to the next song. It happens very consistently now with every new song that plays. Also, during some songs it'll do this freeze for 30 seconds where song navigation won't trigger.

Can't overstate how annoying this is. Has anyone else experienced this?

I personally don't blame FCA for this issue at all, and lean heavily toward it being Apple's problem to solve. Everything worked great on every iPhone my wife and I used until iOS 12 came out. I keep sticking with beta updates on my iPhone XS hoping that it will finally be resolved. So far, nothing. I really don't want to switch back to Android, but I'm getting more and more tempted lately. It's truly disappointing that with as much as iPhones cost, even compared to other high-end flagship phones, that something as simple as bluetooth audio can't work reliably with one of the most common (not to mention highly-rated) infotainment systems in the world. If this doesn't get fixed by the time iOS 13 is released, I'm going to have to seriously reconsider sticking with my iPhone upgrade plan.

Let us know! We wait with bated breath.

What really ticks me off about this whole thing is, I drive my '16 Charger and it lags like a mofo, but I hop into my wife's '19 Pacifica and not only does it work, but it's lightning fast - like, BT profile and connection made within seconds (takes up to 1.5 minutes in my car.) I like my Charger. It's fast. I like the Pacifica too but, it's not my Charger. We need this fixed!

Yeah my '16 Ram 1500 has had this problem since the early betas of iOS 12 and persisting through the most recent iOS 12.4 public beta. I was in Virginia for work a couple months ago, and happened to get an '18 or '19 Charger for my rental car, and it worked flawlessly with my phone. Either way, 4 different iPhones worked flawlessly in my truck for a year prior to iOS 12 breaking things, so I'm still convinced it's Apple's problem to fix and not FCA's.

I'm jumping on this thread as well. I'm having horrible issues with my iphone Xs in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the latest Uconnect Nav (I also have the 19 speaker high end audio). I had the iphone X and had a 2017 and now 2018 Jeep with no issues at all. As soon as I added the Xs a few months ago, i'm having all sorts of issues. The biggest issue is phone calls and facetimes calls on bluetooth force the Uconnect to lock up and reboot itself. I've tried multiple resets and bluetooth pairings with no luck. I want my old phone back! This iphone Xs hasn't impressed me at all.

I installed iOS 13 Public Beta 1 late last week, and I've been running iOS 13 Public Beta 2 since it was made available on Monday. This issue definitely seems to be a lot better, if not fixed completely, now. I've had zero issues with Bluetooth audio in my truck for the last several days. I'm really hoping it stays that way this time, but we'll see how this beta progresses.

I have an iPhone 8 with the latest update 12.3.1. I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee with Uconnect 8.4 w/Nav. I have the lagging issue just like everyone else but I also have an issue with my heating and cooling. With the AC on and set to 74 degs the AC is reading approx 60 degs at the vent via thermometer. When I move it to 76 with AC still on it will blow approx 110 degs. Dealership replaced the stereo unit twice and can't figure it out. I am just curious if this also is an IOS issue. The dealership said that all of the climate controls are run through the stereo. Thanks for any input
