Error Code 602

Tried installing the latest MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 supplemental update 2 for Macbook Pro 2018 today in my new laptop this morning and got a failed installation with error code 602 after it. Has anyone else had this happen? What's up with this and why is a new install on a new laptop not working? How can this be remedied? Can't we count on the updates from Mac to work?

Apparently this is to do with the T2 chip and the SMC needing a reset.

The following is taken from a poster on MacRumors, and worked for everyone that has tried it (including me). All Macs with a T2 chip need to shut down, once fully shut down, hold the power button for about 15 seconds (you'll see the Apple logo appear and then disappear and go back into a shut down state), once that's finished, turn it back on, log in and do the update.
