A1465 MacBook Air current OS?

I bought a MacBook Air from eBay. It appears there’s no operating system installed. Which operating system should I install. MacBook Air A1465

Boot into Recovery Mode and choose reinstall Mac OS:

About macOS Recovery - Apple Support

It will probably go to Internet Recovery Mode and install the original system the Mac shipped with, then you can upgrade to High Sierra from there.

Restart with the Option, Command, and R keys held down, and install the OS; based on the information posted, it could be anything from Lion to Yosemite.

You don’t need to buy any. Follow the instructions above and then download High Sierra from the Mac App Store; if the recovery system installs Lion, you’ll need to go through El Capitan or another intermediate OS.
