Old apple id keeps asking to update

Hi all - I've just updated my iPhone 8 to ios12. All went well except for a constant request to update my old apple id. I've been in to settings to check I'm using the new id and thats correct. The only place the old one comes up is in the Settings, under my account name as a suggestion to Update Apple ID Settings. It's driving me mad! Any hwlp appreciated thanks.

Hi Eostre,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re being prompted to update your old Apple ID. I’m happy to provide some steps that might help. To start, I suggest following the steps in this article:

What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

Also keep in mind that any apps downloaded with the old Apple ID will be associated with that ID, so when those apps need to be updated, you’ll be prompted for the old Apple ID and password. To avoid this, you would need to delete any apps and redownload them if they were associated with the old one.

Take care.

Eostre,

Thanks for the response. It might be difficult to tell which apps are associated with the old Apple ID until they need to be updated, in which case they’ll ask for the old Apple ID and password. You do have the option to sign in with your old Apple ID and view your purchase history using the steps below, which could help with figuring out which apps are still associated:

Cheers.
