Iphone XS max wont charge with Belkin powerhouse dock or old apple iphone cables

So i recently got my new iphone XS max and coming to charge it with my Belkin powerhouse dock or old wires i got it wont charge. My phone will only charge with the cable that came in the box. All the other cables i tried are genuine apple cables and when i come to charge it it shows it charges then it goes off. The dock was purchased right from apple and the same issue is happening with both the dock and cables. I tested it with my iphone 6 and iphone 7 and it works fine. PLEASE HELP.

iPhone Xs Max, iOS 12

I’m having the same problem. I tried moving the cord around to different charging block and that worked. I’ve come to realize that it’s only the cords that didn’t come with the IPhone that don’t work; Only the cord in the box works.

This is very annoying. It’s a certified charger but it won’t charge the phone. I need a real explanation from apple on why it isn’t working. I put my phone on charge from 30% it charged it to 50% then it stopped and turned off. I’m sure that apple can somehow solve this issue with a software update. But at this point a product you could purchase from apple is not working with their own phone...

Yeah but it’s a shame for those of us who purchased the dock prior to getting the new iPhones... just doesn’t make sense for a lightning cable accessory that was compatible with all iPhones up to this point to suddenly not work with the recently released ones.

Not the charger it's in the phone settings the raise to wake toggle off it's in settings display and brightness mine kept coming off on off on so I turned off rise to wake it's charging and another thing that might not let it charge is if you turned on the USB security toggle for added protection

I’m sorry you’re having this problem with the charging of the MAX. The usb toggle is located in Face ID and passcode. I noticed you said old cables not working either that kinda makes me think it’s in the phone I would take it back it’s got a 1 year warranty on it just replace it. I myself was upset when I placed my new phone on my multi watch and phone charger phone would turn on and off so I remember when I went thru all the different settings raise to wake so I toggled it off and behold it worked it was charging. I hope this was help

I received my Xs Max 257GB 9/24 and it just started doing this today. Another very odd behavior: when plugging in a USB C cable, the phone goes into a charge-no charge-charge-no charge state, with the alert sound and battery indicator toggling once or twice a second. The only cure is to unplug. When it does this, no regular charging cable works: no charge. I wait a while and try again and the USB C cable works fine. So do regular cables. And as I say, these problems only began today after three and a half days of ordinary use.

Wow, im glad i came across this as i am also having this issue. I had the X before and it would charge fine. Now, when i sit it on the dock, it connects or charge and stop off and on every couple seconds. I put my girls phone (X) and it works fine. Im thinking the larger battery of the new XS MAX is the problem? This really ***** as i also bought this from the Apple store as its supposed to be apple certified, and its not working. Im using the Belkin Valet dock that charges the watch and iphone, by the way. And i have always had the wake when rise feature off.

Can we get an official reply from an apple rep if there can be a fix for this?

This is a user-to-user technical support site Apple isn't here. Plus how would an Apple rep be able to state what Belkin is going to do. Belkin clearly states on their website that the Valet is not compatible with the Xs, Xs Max, and Xr. That would seem to be the end of it.
