Hello, maureenfromcanandaigua!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here. I understand that you can't seem to locate your Gmail inbox in the Mail app, in fact it sounds like it may be missing from the app completely. Being able to stay on top of your inbox is crucial, I'll be glad to help.

The first thing I would do is recommend pulling up the Gmail website so that you can make sure you are able to log in to that account and check up on any messages you might have missed. You can do this in any web browser by going to the Gmail website and putting in your username and password.

From there, I would try adding the account back by following the steps in Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch . With Gmail, you should be able to use the automatic steps which you can find below:

Set up your email account automatically

If you use an email provider like iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up your email account with just your email address and password. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts, then tap Add Account.
  2. Tap your email provider.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
  5. Choose information from your email account, like Contacts or Calendars, that you want to see on your device.
  6. Tap Save.

If you don't see your email provider, tap Other to add your account manually.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Have a great day!
