Hey Dannyq714,

Thanks for reaching out about notifications on your iPhone 7. I'll be happy to help.

First, take a look at your settings. Go to Settings > Notifications > Show Previews, and make sure that "Always" is set here so that notifications will appear when your device is both locked and unlocked.

Also check the specific settings for an app you receive notifications for. For example, for Messages, go to Settings > Notifications > Messages, and make sure that Lock Screen notifications are toggled on here.

Let us know if you're still not seeing the notifications after adjusting these settings. Cheers.

Hey Dannyq714,

Thanks for following up with this additional information. Since the notifications are appearing on your Apple Watch, you may need to adjust the notifications in relation to your Apple Watch. Check this out which has information that if your iPhone is locked or asleep, you'll get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked with your passcode: Notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

This might explain why you're not getting notifications on your iPhone when it's locked. Take care.

The notifications will only go to your Apple Watch if the iphone is locked and the watch is unlocked and set to mirror notifications for that particular app. That's design.

If you want an app's notifications always on the iphone, even when the iphone is locked, then you need to turn off notification mirroring for that app in the watch settings app on your iphone to stop receiving notifications to your watch and keep them always on your phone.

That's how it works for me

It’s worth noting that this is also how it works if I am working on on logged in MacBook Pro and my phone is locked the notifications will go to the active device which in your case will be your unlock Apple watch on your wrist As opposed to your locked phone

If you change your mirror to notification settings for the app in question I’m sure your notifications will come to your phone if that’s what you prefer

If you change your American notification settings for the app in question I’m sure your notifications will come to your phone if that’s what you prefer

If this helps or resolves your question I do appreciate the feedback and so others can see the resolution
